A US and Canadian board-certified orthopedic surgeon from Gig Harbor, Washington, Ian B. Lawson, MD, has practiced medicine since 1988. Outside of his present role as a medical director for a healthcare organization, Dr. Ian B. Lawson has memberships in professional groups such as the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS), which provides musculoskeletal education to healthcare providers globally.
In December 2022, the AAOS launched the Fracture & Trauma Registry (FTR), which will provide more access to tracking evidence-based practices and improving musculoskeletal care. The registry is in partnership with Patient IQ, the healthcare technology entity that will power the platform.
Patient IQ will integrate its cloud-based technology with FTR electronic healthcare records. In doing so, the registry will simplify collecting and submitting data related to patient outcomes and ultimately improve the process. The platform will also alleviate the administrative and technological burdens associated with inputting patient-reported, procedural, and postoperative outcomes.
The Patient IQ partnership has engaged 1,500 surgeons in the last six months and is the fastest-growing in its field. The organization welcomes ambulatory service centers, hospitals, and institutions that treat fracture-related trauma.
